GOALS & OBJECTIVES

SHIFT THE BALANCE OF NATIVE PLANTS VS- WEEDS
Identify & map existing native plants
Remove weeds in key areas with existing native vegetation
Replant where potential for recovery is good & to control erosion
Remove Eucalyptus trees & thin out other trees for sunlight & moisture

EXPAND / PRESERVE THE OPEN SPACE
Educate the public about natural features with an interpretive sign
Pursue purchase of additional properties
Involve neighbors by identifying & enhancing private wild lands

RE-ALIGN & IMPROVE TRAILS FOR UNIVERSAL ACCESS
Maintain open access for all users with gentle slopes on trails
Establish orderly maintenance trails for weeding & up close appreciation
Topographic survey to determine feasibility & specific alignment
Close steep, confusing or redundant trails with branches from pruning
Clean & re-vegetate with natives as part of trail construction/maintenance

MAXIMIZE BIRD & WILDLIFE HABITAT
Plant for butterfly laval host & nectar plants
Protect & enhance berry bushes as bird food & cover
Make grassy clearings in forest for predator hunting ground
Retain some heritage Cypress & Pines for bird nesting & habitat
